FMCSA DISPATCHER REVIEW
Yes, it's in red letters because something BIG is about to happen!
What may change?
We feel it is important to let you know that a ruling is under consideration at this time that can affect ALL independent dispatchers out there. If the change is made, all dispatch services or independent dispatchers positions would be eliminated, making it hard for carriers to find loads or do paperwork. The change in policy should be decided by November 15, 2022. It you want to read about the issue, it can be found here here and because it is very in-depth, we believe that you should read this policy before making a choice if this is what you want to do. We have decided to continue selling the course until we get a final ruling as this may be stalled in litigation for a long time if it comes to appealing the decision.
Our official take on this issue is that all small motor carriers should start planning to dispatch their own trucks and or have a family member or spouse become the company dispatcher. This, of course is your decision, and this training will show them how to do it.
Now, if the decision is made that dispatchers have to become brokers, we will provide free broker training to all students who have attended our class for FREE. If you do not want to be a broker, we can place you with a brokerage to continue your dispatch service. We will give more information pending the outcome of the decision.
UPDATE: 11/15/22
Please see the ruling from the FMCSA on dispatchers here:
https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2022-24923.pdf
At this time, they are saying that a dispatcher can only dispatch for one truck. This will be a financial strain on carriers that need assistance as they will have to find someone that is willing to work only for them. We are evaluating the ruling and will discuss further options.
